Selection Requirements and Process
Many people meet the basic requirements, but make no mistake: making the cut and entering one of our training programs is not easy. We are looking for the best possible people to take on the responsibility of managing Canada’s airspace, and as such, the selection process is highly competitive.
As you explore information on the application process, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- We are always accepting applications, but regional requirements vary. That means the time it takes to work through the application hurdles can vary too – from a couple of months to over a year.
- When you apply, you apply to one of seven flight information regions. Click here for a map of facilities in each region. You can chose to apply to a region other than the one in which you reside, but note that you will be asked to participate in testing and interviews in that region, and will ultimately complete your training and be placed in a position in that region.
- You may be offered an opportunity in a stream other than your first preference. While we ask you to indicate a preference in your application, we may determine that you are eligible for a different stream and make an offer to enter training.
